Dr. Jan Van Nuffel graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1994 as a doctor, from the University of Antwerp. He completed the urology training at the Middelheim General Hospital in Antwerp and at the Hôpital Foch in Paris, which is internationally renowned for the diagnosis and treatment of urological tumors. In 2000, he started his practice as a urologist at the RZ Tienen, where he is head of the Urology Department since 2006.

In 2010, Dr Van Nuffel co-founded the Urology Association Hageland. Since 2017 there is a fusion with the Urology Department of AZ Diest.
In addition to general urology, Dr Van Nuffel has a special interest in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of urological cancers, endoscopy for benign and malignant prostate and bladder disorders and stone pathology (endoscopy, RIRS, ESWL). For onco-urology there is close cooperation with the oncology and radiotherapy departments of the University Hospital Leuven.

Since June 2022, the Urology Association Hageland has its own center for robotic-assisted surgery.
In 2025, the Association will consist of 7 staff members and work at different locations, including Leuven, Tienen, Aarschot, Diest, Hannuit and Jodoigne.
