Psychological counselling in medical process for child wish:

Knocking on the door of a fertility centre with an unfulfilled desire for children comes with many unanswered questions. The course of the diagnostic tests and the determination of a treatment course provide answers to some questions and other questions remain unanswered. Hence, for many couples, this experience is best described as a winding road with straights of hope and future image interspersed with sharp turns of setback(s) and disappointment(s), the emotional rollercoaster.

This tests the resilience and resilience of the individual and the relationship. Some manage to do this in a healthy way, despite the sometimes tortuous course.

Others find that they get nauseous on the curves or have to pull over along the route and come to the conclusion that their resilience and resilience has 'run out'....

This is when psychological counselling can be useful:

a. to find together a way to go through the treatment process emotionally viable by dealing with the reality of the unfulfilled desire to have children in a different way and to make the quality of (relationship) life pleasant again.

b. once the reality of the fertility process forces it, to talk about difficult choices: non-genetic parenthood (donor), alternatives such as foster care or adoption or a childless life.
